WORKSHOP: Being Human Festival : Build Your Creative Worlds

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Join us at St Margaret's House Gallery Café for an evening of chatting and making, as we explore how to make everyone feel empowered to take part in the arts.

We will discuss if and how we currently take part in the arts – anything from making crafts we have seen online to seeing a friend’s theatre performance – and work together to create a vision of our ‘perfect’ arts space, where everyone feels included and excited to take part in the arts.

We will then use these ideas to create our own ‘zines’ – mini booklets filled with writing, collages or drawings – that reflect our own unique version of the perfect arts space for us.

This event is for anyone aged 18+ who is interested in working in a group to talk about the arts. Anyone who likes making, doing or seeing new things, but may have not have visited an art gallery recently, is especially welcome.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 9–18 November 2023. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
