  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

A DYCP Funding Support Workshop for FREE, with Nina Scott. Artists looking to secure funding but don't know where to begin? This is for YOU!

Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) Arts Council Funding reopens on December 12th. This is a competitive pot (and it's certainly not guaranteed you get the money even if you have the best idea ever) HOWEVER it is also a relatively short application and it's always worth a go! If you are interested in applying but feel overwhelmed about it, or you have an idea you want to discuss then come join us.

This workshop will be led by Nina Scott, an Artist in Residence at St. Margaret's House. They successfully received DYCP funding in 2020 and have supported multiple people to apply since. Nina is also the first Artist at SMH to fund their residency through Arts Council England and has 8 years experience writing successful funding grants.

What you can expect:

-A guided opportunity to reflect on your own desires and ambitions for your artistic practice. We will ask the dreamy question: 'If I had ten grand to develop my artistic practice, what would I do....?'

-An overall discussion of DYCP funding: the who, what and why.

-A discussion of each of the three questions with examples of past successful applications

-How to write a clear and concise budget

-Those who wish to can stay up to an extra hour to work on the application/ discuss ideas further

What to bring:

-Laptop, phone, tablet or good old fashioned pen and paper you can work with
