St. Margaret’s House is supporting summer holiday fun, play, yoga, nature connection and creativity for refugee, migrant and low income mums and kids Tuesday mornings at the nearby Canal Club Community Centre this August.
It’s all part of the Touching Safe Ground programme run by Globe Community Project (GCP). Their team have been providing weekly therapeutic yoga and confidence- building English for recently arrived asylum seeker women at the Mission Practice GPs for more than a year now.
By partnering up with GCP for the the summer, we are together making sure that refugee mums and children get out of the hostel where many are temporarily housed and into the fresh air. There are no communal areas or outdoor or indoor play spaces at the hostel in Cambridge Heath and this adds to the pressures during the school holidays.
Bengali and other migrant women as well as those on benefits are also warmly welcome to join in the summer fun in a safe, nurturing space with a beautiful abundant community garden - and plenty of indoor space in case of rain.
Women and children of all ages welcome. Refreshments provided.
Dates & Time:
Tuesday 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd August between 10 - 12am
