Join us for the private view of WomanEwer's pop-up installation in the St Margaret's House Chapel, as part of International Girl's Day.
WomanEwer is an all-female-led artistic project, that brings women of all ages and horizons together into a safe space, to explore and come to terms with their own experiences of sexual abuse through dance, theatre and healing methods. Ewer is an old word for a jug, its shape is reminiscent of the female form and extends to the idea of the container-keeper-receiver, giver and guardian of life, nourishment and stories.
The pop-up installation features work by artist Melanie Kenyon. Melanie uses a variety of visual arts – drawing, painting, printing, ceramics and also includes bilingual writing, reading-performance and installation work in her practice collaborating with dancers and musicians in a site specific space.
