Henna is an ancient practice that allows you to channel your inner creative to produce beautiful art; it's also a way to mindfully connect with the body, and with nature. In these workshops, Qayyah, who runs Henna London, will teach you to practise henna effectively in a safe and inclusive space; you'll also discover more about the journey and history of henna, henna in traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda, henna's significance in various ideologies and in art, as well as henna in the context of decolonisation.
The workshop on Monday 11th November falls on World Origami Day, so we'll be practising traditional henna; you'll also have the chance to decorate some paper with henna designs and to make a simple origami shape.
A chance to connect with like-minded creatives in East London and to leave with a beautiful henna design, these workshops are also a great opportunity to pick up a new creative skill (or to brush off an old one!) A portion of the proceeds for this event will go to supporting Medical Aid for Palestinians.
