WORKSHOP: CYANOTYPE

Join Marina Longo, analogue photographer and cyanotype artist, for a fun and hands-on cyanotype workshop series. 

You’ll learn how to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind cyanotype prints while discovering the basics of this fascinating medium, including its history and how it works.
Each session focuses on a different project, giving you the chance to try new materials and techniques. No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity, and you’ll leave with unique art pieces to enjoy or share.

What You’ll Learn:
The basics of cyanotype printing, including its history and how the chemical process works.
How to make striking blueprints using flowers, objects, and sunlight.


Supplies Provided:

  • Light-sensitive solution

  • High-quality paper or fabric (depending on the session)

  • A collection of pressed flowers, objects, lace, and photo negatives

  • Natural sunlight or UV light (depending on the weather)


**Feel free to bring personal items like flowers, stencils, or negatives to make your prints even more special!

Sunday 26 January | Printing on Fabric
Try cyanotype printing on fabric and see how this technique transforms textiles into something special. You’ll work with two pieces of high-quality cotton fabric, perfect for creating items like wall hangings or other keepsakes. 

All supplies are provided, but you’re welcome to bring stencils or objects to add your own flair.


• Sunday, 23 February | Cyanotype Postcards: Spread the Love
Make thoughtful and personal cyanotype postcards! You’ll receive up to four A6 postcards to decorate with floral patterns, objects, and any personal items you want to bring. 

These make wonderful gifts or keepsakes for Valentine’s Day.


• Sunday, 23 March | Cyanotype Basics & More
Whether you’re new to cyanotype or have joined a session before, this workshop is a great chance to create something unique. You’ll get to try out a variety of materials, including natural items and brushes, and leave with a cyanotype print that reflects your style.
