Extra Second London: DIASPORA

  • The Mulberry Hall, St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Extra Second London is our monthly themed spoken word poetry/debate night.

Each event includes featured poets and an open mic, followed by a round table audience discussion in the Chapel in St Margaret's House.

Open Mic sign up from 6.30pm | Starts at 7.00pm

Our theme this month is DIASPORA

What makes a Diaspora: people, time, space, or all three? What could a world be without its borders?

Do the spaces we cohabitate across continents and time have more to say than our local communities?

How close are we to the lands and seas of our origin and what to we do to maintain that link?

Join us April 27th to share your art and your thoughts!

Your host, Jamal (Kid Anansi) is a Croydon-based poet, hosts multiple open mic nights around London, was a regular performer on the BAFTA Award winning series Life & Rhymes, and performed at Glastonbury 2022.
