OPENING EVENT: DRAWN TO LONDON by Drawn to the City collective

  • The Gallery Cafe 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Group exhibition exploring London’s buildings, people, streets and parks, using colour and mark-making to capture a sense of place.

The ‘Drawn to the City’ Collective is a group of artists based in and around London. They first met during a course focused on drawing local landscapes at the Royal Drawing School. Over the 10 weeks of this course, the artists bonded over a shared love of exploring London’s varied landscape, drawing in train stations, parks, busy market places and museums. After the course they continue to draw together and this exhibition is a celebration of the work created so far, you will also recognise some drawings inspired whilst at The Gallery Cafe!

Join Virginia Orr, Exhibitions Coordinator at St Margaret’s House and one or two of the exhibition artists as they are ‘In Conversation With’ at the Opening Event. They will talk about how the group came together, the benefits of being a collective, their inspirations and processes and the many ways in which anyone can get drawing!
