Pride Celebration Pompom Headdress Workshop

  • The Create Place 29 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PJ United Kingdom (map)

Join us at this unique, queer crafty workshop. All wool, pompom makers, attachments, and other intrinsic elements will be available to make a headpiece to be proud of!

Hélène Corr, your workshop facilitator, is a queer artist with many years of headdress making experience with a huge love of pompoms! We want this to be a relaxed, sociable occasion for everyone involved, so do feel free to bring snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic drinks only) if you would like to.

Tea & coffee are available for free.

Testimonials:

"I love the shear amount of stuff & knowledge you bring to these workshops. I've learned so much from you! I especially appreciate that it doesn't include complicated machinery or endless hours of sewing. In a few hours you can create something from start to finish, which is such a rewarding feeling and always makes me come out of your workshops with a bounce in my step." - Participant of Fix-Up, Look Sharp!

"Had SUCH a wonderful time. Really fun and productive" - Participant of Fix-Up, Look Sharp!

Hélène Corr:

’I have been running eclectic, fun, crafting, and fashion workshops at SMH and other venues since 2021. These have included headdress making, upcycling shoes, glasses, and clothes, No-Sew Kimono, mask making, jewellery and social crafty ‘make what you want’ workshops. I have run workshops at The Royal Festival hall for over 200 people as well as small group private parties.

I am currently one of two workshop leaders for SMH’s CrafterSchool - a weekly children’s after-school arts & crafts club. I also run a regular ‘Feeling Good’ Crafts workshop for the over 50s in Shoreditch.

I am always on the lookout for other opportunities to share my love of making and creating using fun resources and unusual techniques. I am trying to make my workshops as sustainable as possible using as much recycled materials as possible.’
