Join Anna Dyke & Jane O'Sullivan, for this hands-on printmaking workshop taking inspiration from the Detour exhibition and the inky world of Film Noir. Cutting and drawing into foam and recycled card you will create your own monochrome block prints and see how a woodcut is printed by hand
The Detour exhibition pays homage to the inky monochrome and intense atmosphere of classic noir cinema. Jane explores the genre with prints made using simple, everyday materials - card, tetra pak, plywood - evoking the claustrophobic tension of noir's urban settings and morally ambiguous characters. Anna expands the mood with painted ceramic tiles and pots, alongside prints and drawings that capture the menace, melodrama and glamour of the era. Take a detour into a world of fate, frantic phone calls and fallen angels, as we celebrate Noirvember’s dark allure.
