Gipsy jazz concert with Ducato Piotrowski Trio

Ducato, a Roma Gypsy, was ten when his father

showed him just a few chords on the guitar. Inspired, Ducato began watching other

guitarists and tried to imitate them. He is entirely self-taught. When Ducato

discovered the music of Django Reinhardt it had a huge impact on his life. In an

increasingly materialistic age, Ducato maintains traditional Gypsy values – he prefers

to play for and with those whose hearts understand the music, and gives his all to

every performance. As a result he is both sought-after by home-grown musicians,

such as Gary Potter, and has played with many of the Gypsy greats including

Moreno Winterstein, Mozes Rosenberg, Romane, Patrick Saussois, Lollo Meier,

Angelo Debarre, Samson Schmidt and David Reinhardt, Django’s grandson. Ducato

will be joined by Simon Moore on guitar and Nick Pini on bass, both fine exponents

of the genre.

During the evening a 100% plant-based Aperitivo will be served, with the following menu (from 7 pm to 8:30 pm & drinks from 7 pm to 10 pm):

Bibimbap (GF): Marinated tempeh, sushi rice, Kimchi, Marinated mushrooms, carrot & edamame salad, cucumber salad & teriyaki dressing.

Mezze Platter (GFO): Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Falafel, Lebanese Tabouleh, Couscous salad, Roasted chickpeas, flatbread & Dreamy Tahini dressing.

SPECIAL DEAL £35 = 2 tickets + prosecco bottle + 2 courses - only on reservation.

Painting Landscape in Words

Jon's art is multi faceted and fits within three classic activities: Drawing, Painting and Printing.

He is based and is a founder artist member of Chisenhale Art Place in an old veneer factory, in London’s East End, near Victoria Park, where the artists built the studios with their own hands in 1980.In the first half of his talk, he will show his work that begins ‘Plain air,’ outside, before nature where his concerns are various, the movement of elemental forces, the forests and fields that ride them or in the particular, a peculiar insect clambering amongst the grass. He will demonstrate his techniques: using the yolk of an egg to mix pigments to make paint and also, through the democracy of Cast-printing, his invention. In the second half, Jon will tell of his journeys in Africa by bike from Gambia to Cameron through his paintings.

Sonny Dewfall, a talented young musician, will accompany Jon on this journey with his voice and guitar.

Italian Sounds in London

Italian Sounds in London

The show will present the music of many Italian musicians that travelled and moved to London and the UK at the beginning of the XVIII centaury.

We will try to demonstrate how a lot of the music they composed was impaired and influenced by English folk and traditions and how this music suit totally the pub atmosphere.

We will use historical instruments but for our storytelling (and to involve even more the audience) we will have the help of Serio&Faceto, an Italian folk duo which will uplift all the 'seriousness' of classical music with songs, storytelling, and comic gags.
