Description:

We are HIRING! We are looking for a new part-time Front of House member to join our friendly team at our buzzing and vibrant Gallery Café, in Bethnal Green. As you might know, the café offers an exclusively vegan menu and is part of St Margaret House, a charity focused on arts and wellbeing charity activities. Besides our 9 am - 6 pm service, we host a range of evening events such as live music, performances and catering.

Therefore, the ideal candidate will be passionate about vegan food, coffee and live events, providing great customer service and ensuring the smooth running of the Gallery Café when on shift. The Gallery Cafe is unique in that it offers candidates the opportunity to develop their skills and give their creative input.

Essential:

• At least 1 year of experience in a customer facing hospitality role

• Passion for vegan food

• Ability to work flexible hours: early morning starts, late evening finishes and weekends will be required

• Able to work as part of a team and take constructive criticism and direction well

• Able to multitask and work within time deadlines

• Keen to develop skills and progress in the industry

• Motivated and able to work using your initiative

• Good communication skills

• Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Barista experience

• Interest and enjoyment of the arts

• Experience of working in a vegan restaurant/café

• Food Safety Level 1 (this qualification can be gained within the role)

The wage is £13.15 per hour and the total amount of hours will be around 20 per week.

We have a rotation of days off, which will allow us to give you days off on weekend days.
