WORKSHOP: Live Eco

  • The Create Place 29 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PJ United Kingdom (map)

Save money while looking after yourself and the environment. We'll be looking at small changes that we can make in our every day lives, from the food we eat, the energy we use, how we get around and the stuff we buy. Our Live Eco workshops are open to everyone and are relaxed and friendly, just bring yourself. You'll have the opportunity to get creative and make something to take home with you. Regular attendance is encouraged, so please book in all sessions you're able to attend. If you're not able to come, please cancel your place, so others on the waiting list can take your spot. Workshops are provided free to those who live, work or study in Tower Hamlets.

24th January 2024: Food waste is a huge contributor of carbon emissions. Learn how to make the most of your stale bread, the vegetables at the bottom of the fridge and enjoy a tasty spread of low waste snacks that we'll share together!

7th February 2024: Learn about how to reduce the energy we use and how to save on your heating and electricity bills! Stay cosy by making a heat pack from upcycled materials- use it to warm your toes in bed, relax tired muscles and keep you warm.

21st February 2024: Share tips and tricks to save money on the stuff we buy. Don't spend when you can mend! We will be learning creative ways to repair and upcycle your own clothes and can advise you on how you can mend the clothes you bring in on a case-by-case basis! Come along with your old clothing.

6th March 2024: Share ideas on how to make our daily travel greener and cleaner. Learn about how plants help to clean the air and propagate your own air-purifying house plant to take home with you.

20th March 2024: Come together for our final workshop and choose what you want to learn to make!

This workshop series is supported by the Tower Hamlets Council's Carbon Reduction Community fund.
